The One (A Poem)

The One (A Poem)

Artist’s Comment:
Believe it, this poem was written long before the conception or release of The Matrix, or the Jet Li movie of the same name. The title does refer to a prophetical ‘chosen one’ however.

The evil inside is ten leagues wide
five leagues wider than the good can hide
stronger even than apathy’s tide
sometimes the balance is denied.

A delicate ecosystem of love and hate
the evil destroys, the good creates
eternally locked in futile debate
until a Death ordained by Fate.

For every action, opposing reaction
two side to side warring factions
struggle for power, fighting for traction
addition of pain, never subtraction.

This war is fought, but can be won
by a unique love from a special someone
His power shines brighter than the sun
He’s my Savior, I call Him “The One.”
