Starting a prayer group

Everyone,

I would like to get a prayer group started in TeamSpeak. The group would have weekly meetings, and it would provide us a way to support each other as a community while bringing our prayer requests and praises to God.

A couple of questions:

- What time would work best? (I'm thinking Wednesdays at 8 Eastern, but I'm not sure how that will work for everyone).

- Not entirely related, but would people want a stickied post in Prayers/Praises to keep a listing of all our active requests? (I've been thinking something like this would be nice, but it would need to be sticky to be effective).

(I intend to bring this up at the next council meeting, but that's 2 weeks away )

Well, I was kind of thinking about a sticky post with the following:

• Shameless plug for the group
• List of standing/long-term prayer requests
• List of recent prayer requests (these would stay for 30 days, at which point I could PM the person and ask if they wanted it renewed). Sourced from PM/TeamSpeak/Prayers and Praises forums
• Anonymous prayer requests (could be sent by PM and added anonymously to the list, would work same as recent prayer requests).
• List of praises (especially as old prayer requests are being resolved).

Then we could use the list as a basis for the weekly meetings, and for people to use in general.

Would be a nice thing to have back again. I could give you moderator rights in the Prayer's & Praises forum so you can manage things.

And there used to be a Prayer group, I believe, a long time ago. But not since I've been around.

This has been on my heart lately, but I absolutely do not have time this month to put the right energy into it.

I've been looking at this, and I'm debating if Wednesday night is the best night to run this -- there are a lot of Wednesday church services, etc. since it's in the middle of the week.

What would everyone think of running the group on Tuesday nights, or possibly on Thursday before or after the Bible study?

My main concern with Thursday is that I don't want to introduce time pressure on either the prayer group or the bible study; if one of the meetings runs long, I don't want to cut it off because the other one is starting. (I wouldn't mind the extra people, though )
