Do you have a quiet time for God? Is there a time of day you set aside to seek the Lord? I encourage anyone who is serious about following Jesus Christ to have a time each day dedicated for seeking the Lord and studying His Word the Bible. During your time with Christ ask Him to continue to mold you into what He designed you for. Meditate on the Word, consider how much God's loves you to have created you as part of His eternity!
Remember those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength! God Bless your time with Him!

Several months back we had made a decision in our house to honor God in the financial area of our life and began to tithe our ten percent. We have always given to the church but on what was left and what we could afford after we took care of our earthly obligations. At the beginning of 09 I also made the decision to start spending more time in his Word. As I began to read daily, sometimes one chapter and sometimes several, I began to think about the parallels between my tithing of my finances and that of my time. What is or was the difference between giving what was left of my finances to God and giving him what is or what was left of my time to read his word or to spend time in prayer.
In Malachi 1:6 the Lord asks/or states
6 “ A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence?
I have this picture in my head of my Holy Father standing before me like an earthly father, arms folded, trying to get his earthly son to understand this simple concept of love, honor and obedience. In order for me to be able to totally and completely honor my Father in heaven I needed to spend more time with Him in his Word in order to understand his direction for my life and to find what “gift” he gave me to work with for His glory.
How can one honor such as God? Remember we are speaking of the creator of all things past, present and future. One who has no beginning and no end. In Ephesians 6:18 Paul calls us to pray always with all prayer and supplication… pray always. Our time with God in study of his word and in prayer should be the best of our fruits. Nehemiah 10:35-38 shows us how we are commanded to give him just that. Our best. Whether it is the first of our flocks, cattle, fruits, grains or oils, he deserves the best of everything that we have because they come from him.
And there was my answer. God doesn’t put time restraints or allowances on us to spend time with him, because to truly honor him the answer is… always.

Have you ever asked God to reveal how you treat others? Most of us probably haven't because we're so wrapped up in our own lives that we fail to see how we interact with those around us. Our treatment of others often reflects how serious we are about our relationship with Jesus Christ. If we are seeking Christ, everyday we want to please Him and grow closer to Him. If we want to please God, we strive to treat others kindly.
However when our reality is exposed we often see that our treatment of others is less respectful and considerate than what we expect from others regarding how they treat us. Hypocrates, we are very good at expecting perfection from someone else and expecting God's grace and understanding for our actions. Think about our prayers- God help me. Conversely when we are wronged by someone we pray for God to settle the score! Jesus asked us to bless those who curse us and spitefully use us! Bless do not curse.
Make today a new day on how you see and treat others. May God bless your commitment to seeking and serving Him through your gracious actions towards others.
God Bless,
